When In Doubt Tweet It Out

I’ve had a hard time coming up with a topic to discuss with you and then I realized, why not talk of your tweeting, meaning me. Since I’ve been tweeting, I’ve watched my numbers spike and do it at certain times of the day and watch the results. Join me I discuss what tweeting has done for me here at buttah design and what it has done for my numbers both in online visitors and RSS feed visitors.

It’s been about a week since my last post and all week I’ve been going over different topics to discuss with my readers. And in that week no posts at all. what I have been doing is tweeting at certain times during the day just to see if there was any correlation with my numbers in terms of page visitors and RSS feed readers. Twitter and the plugin that I’m using, AddThis, states to share with anyone, anytime to boost traffic back to your site. Well that’s exactly what I’ve been doing and the traffic has gone up in direct relation to my tweets.

I’ve noticed traffic spikes as soon as I tweet and a residual carryover afterwards. This carryover in time can be 10 minutes to as much as 2 hours. Somehow, someway, buttah design still gets visits long after I tweet. Ah, the power of the internet. I almost forgot. I’m up 24/7 and my site is in 64 countries.

What I find interesting is that my traffic growth in percentage is up 40% per month. I don’t know if this is average, low, high … I just know my numbers indicated a 40% increase in both visits and RSS readership per month going back only till February. Yes, this is only 3 months of data, however, the data has been consistent. The only thing I’ve done differently is tweet more the last week or so than normal. What that means is substantial growth for buttah design going forward to the 6 month and 1 year mark. If these numbers continue to follow this pattern of growth, I’ll be super-stoked.

So if you want to see a spike in traffic to your site with residual growth in traffic after your tweet, using Twitter is a good move. I’m busy with projects and other things during the day. I don’t have hours to sit and tweet all day. A few minutes is all it takes to see traffic generated to your site from these tweets.
